Tim Nakamura
President
Tim retired from Sport Chek as Delivery Manager in 2021. His parents involvement at Kotobuki drew Tim to there and he brought his father back after several years of absence. Tim joined in 2025 and has been president since February 2026.
Hisako Sato
Vice President
Hisako became a member of Kotobuki in 2023 and vice-president in 2025. Hisako is a violinist and a member of Kitchen Quartet. The quartet practices at her home and they perform at special event days at Kotobuki.
Becky Nakamura
Treasurer
Becky (no relation to Tim) joined Kotobuki in 2019 and has been Treasurer since 2021. She is currently a Reiki Master Practitioner at Waves of Ki. Becky is retired from being a senior financial accountant.
Julie Kamitakahara
Assistant Treasurer
Julie joined Kotobuki in 2009. She assists Becky by processing, verifying, and paying for invoices and receipts. Julie enjoys reading in her spare time, and the company of her friends at Kotobuki.
Harriet Sakon
Secretary
Harriet has been attending Kotobuki with her mom. She joined as a member in 2022. Harriet has retired from WestJet as a customer service agent and still loves to travel. She started as secretary in November 2024.
Barb Saga
Assistant Secretary
Barb joined Kotobuki in 2024 and has been the assistant secretary since November 2024. She also volunteers with Meals on Wheels.
Our executive team is also supported by other members who serve as directors at large.
